Guest Checklist

• Flight Tickets: These are a priority - Book your flights well in advance to secure the best deals and most economical flights. You can fly from London-Phuket direct, or go London-Bangkok-Phuket. You can also fly from other UK airports including Birmingham and Manchester. Consider all options and a range of dates to get the best value. We recommend usingg Skyscanner.net to find the best deals.

• Dress Code: Smart-casual, first and foremost, consider the tropical climate - no pressure ro wear ties or heels… Unless you want to! Linen, cotton, and light-coloured and airy clothing are best. Remember we will be on and off a beach.

• Wedding Gifts or Contributions: Please do not buy a wedding gift for us. We do not expect any gifts, we are thrilled to bits that you are making the trip out to the islands!

• Passport and Visa:

  Passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the date of your departure

  Apply for a Tourist Visa - www.thaievisa.go.th/tourist-visa

• Accommodation: Make arrangements for your own accommodation in Phuket.

   

  The Bride and Groom will be staying in Phuket from 30th December - 5th January. Please join us for the right amount of time for you - How long do you want stay in Phuket?

   

  We’d love it if you stayed on resort at Cape Panwa, but please do weigh it up against the alternatives, which are potentially much cheaper. Or, consider booking a vila nd sharing with other guests, ‘Grab’ (Thailand’s ‘Uber’) is a very cheap and effective way of moving around the island, so you could choose somewhere further afield if you like.

   

  We recommend signing up and using booking.com in the first instance, as they often offer discounts and free cancellation, and you can check local hotel prices. Then book direct with the hotel if possible:

• Travel Insurance: Purchase travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances, including trip cancellations and medical emergencies.
   

• Currency Exchange: Using paper money is the norm in Thailand, card payments are less common. Obtain Thai Baht currency before your departure or plan to exchange your money upon arrival at the Phuket International Airport.
   

• Vaccinations and Health: Check with your doctor or check on www.travelhealthpro.org.uk/country/221/thailand. This is the website that the NHS doctors and Boots pharmacists use for vaccination advice. Generally, ring your doctors’ surgery to check your Tetanus, MMR and Typhoid vaccinations are up to date. If not, these are all free on NHS.
   

• Weather Preparation: In January, Phuket has little to no rain. Expect up to 33° and sunshine in the day and 24° at night. Pack lightweight, airy clothing, sunscreen, a hat, and insect repellent containing Deet. These are all expensive to buy in Thailand
   

• Travel Documents: Prepare a folder or envelope containing all essential travel documents, including:

  • Passport,

  • Flight tickets,

  • Accommodation details,

  • Emergency contacts

  • Travel insurance information

• Electrical Adapters:  Both USA flat parallel-prongs and European Travel two-round pi adaptors should work fine.
   

• Mobile Phones: Check with your mobile service provider about international roaming charges. These can be horrific if not checked first. Let them know that you are going on holiday to Thailand so that they don’t block your phone. Consider turning off your ‘roaming’ and only using WiFi when in Thailand.
